Are you comfortable with computers and the Internet? Are you willing to put in a little time and effort to make money?
If you answered yes to both questions, and if you understand that this program is not a get-rich-quick scheme, it might be just right for you. Read on to learn more about building your own niche stores on the Internet.
What’s a niche? A Niche Store?
A niche is a small part of a bigger market. For example, electronics is a big market, and there’s no way you could really compete with the big guys who sell a vast array of electronic goods. But within the electronics market there are many niches. GPS navigation systems might be one. Apple iPods are another. Vintage radios still another. Similarly, shoes would be a big market, but running shoes or children’s shoes would be niches within it.
So what you do with this program is identify niches and create websites – niche stores – to sell products within the niches you've identified.
Program Overview
With the niche store program you create one or more online stores with inventory that’s already on eBay. You don’t have to stock any merchandise. You'll have no worries about finding a good drop shipping company. Instead, your websites promote the merchandise that eBay sellers already offer, and eBay pays you commissions. You can even earn commissions if someone joins eBay as a result of visiting your niche store.
Why does eBay want to pay you? Because like any business, eBay is continually looking for new customers and more sales. As an affiliate of eBay, you help their business.
The money you make through this program is called residual income – you do the work up front and then collect your revenue for as long as your sites are running. Rather like a songwriter who writes a song and then gets paid a fee every time it’s played on the radio.
As someone who’s been successful selling on eBay for years, I have to say that I love this program because I don’t have to deal with buying, storing, and shipping inventory! I don’t have to write up product descriptions and take photos every time I add new merchandise. And I don’t have to be available to ship merchandise whenever a sale is made.
With this program I'm not tied to my desk, and you won't be stuck at yours either!

How it works
So far I’ve been very happy with this easy-to-use store/website development platform. It took a bit of work in the beginning, but once I set up my first site, I found it to be fairly simple.
Assuming you already have a computer and a DSL or other high-speed internet hookup, the first thing you do is buy the software, which costs $97.00. You pay for it once and download it. You have unlimited use of the program, so you can set up as many niche stores as you want. The folks who created the program offer excellent support and frequent updates. I’ve found them to be very responsive to the community of people who use the software.
There’s also an active user community and a number of people who have created blogs and sites to assist anyone using the program. And they’re free, created by people who have bought the program, have had success with it, and like helping others.
Next, you have to research niche selling areas. There are many ways to do this, including looking at eBay’s own research, using Google tools, paying attention to the media to see what trends are hot, and so forth. When you buy this program you’ll find that the home site has a lot of information about finding and researching niches.
When you’ve done your research you decide what products you want to offer in your store. Chances are you’ll come up with more than a few good ideas.
Having found a niche to start with you then have to decide on a domain name (www.yoursite.com) and register it. You can purchase domain names for as little as $ 5.00/year, and sometimes less. This is a fixed annual cost that you have to include in your financial calculations.
You also need a web hosting company to host your store online. It’s easy to do for as little as $6.00 a month. The best companies offer you an unlimited number of sites for one low fee. I’ve got all of mine on one site through this type of package, and since I’m paying the monthly fee anyway, I’ll continue to add more sites as I can.
As you’ll see in the installation manual, you now have to join the eBay affiliate program. This costs you nothing, and it’s simple to do. The niche store program installation manual shows you how.
You will also need an FTP (file transfer) program that enables you to upload your software to your hosting site. The one I use is very good and best of all, it’s free! Your niche store installation manual will show you how to use your FTP program.
You’ll want a nice logo for the header of your store. I happen to use Adobe Photoshop Elements, but there are a number of websites where you can create logos easily and for free. And there are always designers (or high school or college students) around if you want to hire someone to do this for you.
Once your store is up and running, you’ll want to promote it so customers can find it. There are many ways to do this. I’ve found a number of ways to promote my sites for free, but you can also buy ads on Google and elsewhere. Some niche store sellers do this, some don’t.
Within a month of getting started I made back all of my start-up costs. Now I make a profit every month. The longer my sites are around, the better they show up in Google and other search engines. I like to keep them fresh, so every once in a while I add something new to each site. Usually it’s resource information that I think will be useful to the people who visit the site, but sometimes I find new products on eBay that fall within my niche and add those.
More ways to make money with your niche store!!!
So far I’ve talked only about earning commissions from eBay, but there are ways to make even more money from each of your niche stores.
One way is to join the affiliate program at amazon.com and then add amazon.com products to your stores. Or put amazon.com ads on your site. Join Google’s Adsense program and show Google ads – you’ll make money from your visitors who click through Google ads. And there are many affiliate programs you can join – for free – if you want to put ads from other businesses on your sites and earn revenue from purchases made through those ads.
As I said in the beginning, and as I think you know by now, this is not a get-rich-quick program. You have to do some work, and the more serious you are about it, the more you’re likely to succeed. The only complaints I’ve ever heard about this program were from people who really didn’t take the time to do it right. The rest of us? Well, some of us are make a couple hundred a month while others are making $2,500 or more each month. How much you make depends on how much you do and what you're willing to learn.
